All the latest Arsenal transfer news in one place, including updates on Eduardo Camavinga, Sandro Tonali and Julian Alvarez.
Arsenal favourites for Camavinga
Arsenal and Man Utd are the favourites to sign Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga, CaughtOffside claims.
The Frenchman is keen to stay, but Real Madrid will listen to offers this summer. Indeed, reports in Spain suggest that Camavinga is on increasingly thin ice following his red card against Bayern Munich in the Champions League.
It is claimed that Arsenal and Man Utd are showing the strongest interest in the midfielder, although PSG could also be interested in bringing him back to Ligue 1. Chelsea and Tottenham, meanwhile, are merely monitoring the situation.
Tonali responds to rumours
Newcastle midfielder Sandro Tonali insists that he is not paying attention to transfer speculation amid reports that he is looking to change clubs this summer.
The Italy international was offered to Arsenal by his representatives late in the January transfer window, and the Gunners are thought to have retained an interest in acquiring his services.
Newcastle could be forced to cash in on the midfielder due to financial pressure, but they will only do so if they receive a fee in the region of €115 million this summer.
Alvarez twist?
Atletico Madrid are keen to hand Julian Alvarez an improved contract in a bid to fend off summer interest, Matteo Moretto reports.
Arsenal are among the clubs keen to sign the Argentina international, but Atleti have no intention of selling and will not entertain offers below €100 million. Club president Enrique Cerezo has grown increasingly annoyed with the constant speculation.
If Atleti manage to agree a deal with Alvarez, it would make a summer transfer virtually impossible. Barcelona, his other strong suitors, are already looking at potential alternatives.
Jorginho critical of Arteta
Former Arsenal midfielder Jorginho has criticised the methods of Gunners boss Mikel Arteta.
The Italy international has described training under the Spaniard as feeling akin to doing “homework” because of his obsession with set-pieces. This, in conjunction with a lack of minutes, convinced Jorginho that he needed to leave to enjoy his football again.
“It does feel like homework, that’s the reality,” he told The Times. “When you focus so much on results, and you hyper-focus on one thing, which is set pieces now, then maybe the other part, the football, is a bit forgotten, let’s say. But football is always in evolution.”
