EXCLUSIVE: Brian Brobbey to leave Sunderland in record deal

Sunderland are set to demand a record transfer fee for striker Brian Brobbey, who has caught the eye of Bayern Munich after a fine first season in the Premier League, FootballTransfers have been told.

Interest has formed in Brobbey after netting six times in his debut season and the Black Cats do not wish to allow the centre-forward, who is under contract until 2029, to leave easily.

Bayern Munich’s interest in Brian Brobbey is very concrete, FootballTransfers can confirm. The German powerhouse is closely following the Dutchman’s performances with an eye on the upcoming summer transfer window of 2026.

Sunderland find themselves in a strong negotiating position and have absolutely no intention of letting their striker go just like that after just one season. The club is demanding a sum of €40m, which would comfortably set a record for an outgoing transfer.

Chelsea willing to sell midfield duo

Chelsea will reportedly listen to offers for Romeo Lavia and Andrey Santos this summer after underwhelming seasons for the midfield duo.

Lavia has continued to endure huge injury problems since his move to Stamford Bridge and the 22-year-old has made just two Premier League starts all season.

Santos, meanwhile, is highly-rated at the club but has failed to consistently impress in his 24 league appearances.

According to journalist Simon Phillips, while Chelsea will not push either player out, both players are attracting ‘significant’ Premier League interest and offers will be considered for the pair.

Gordon ready to make Newcastle exit

Arsenal have been given a major boost in their chances of signing Anthony Gordon this summer after reports that the Newcastle winger is ready to leave the club this summer.

FootballTransfers has exclusively been told that Arsenal are preparing a bid to sign Gordon this summer as Mikel Arteta’s side aim to find a new star attacker.

And The Telegraph have now claimed that Gordon is ‘interested in exploring his options’ after interest emerged in him, although Newcastle have not been told by the player that he wants to leave.

Newcastle will demand in excess of €90 million for Gordon, with interest expected from the likes of Bayern Munich and Liverpool as well as Arsenal ahead of the 2026 World Cup.

Mourinho in frame to replace Howe at Newcastle

Newcastle United are reportedly keeping tabs on Jose Mourinho’s situation at Benfica as they look for a potential replacement for Eddie Howe.

The Magpies are currently 14th in the Premier League table, following a disappointing English top flight campaign to date, while they were knocked out of the Champions League at the last-16 stage after a 8-3 aggregate defeat to a rampant Barcelona side.

A late 2-1 loss to Crystal Palace on Sunday afternoon has ramped up the pressure on Howe, although the club’s chief executive David Hopkinson has revealed that a sacking is not currently on the agenda.

However, sources have informed FootballTransfers that a managerial change cannot be ruled out, and eSPORTY now claim that Mourinho has emerged as a candidate to replace Howe this summer.

Man Utd add Rios to shortlist

Manchester United are said to be among the clubs monitoring the situation surrounding midfielder Richard Rios after his debut season with Benfica.

Rios joined Benfica last summer from Palmeiras and is considered a standout defensive midfielder across Europe, which has attracted interest from Napoli, Inter, Roma, Fulham and United, according to Colombian AS.

Benfica have no desire to sell Rios and the player is also said to be keen on remaining at the club but an ‘irresistible offer’ in terms of finances and sporting prestige could tempt his interest.

However, United had opted against signing the Colombian last summer despite watching him extensively and it is believed they would only revive their interest if other targets appeared unattainable.
