Ryan Lochte’s divorce drama took an ugly turn this week as his estranged wife and new girlfriend took vicious swipes at one another on social media.
The former Olympian, 41, was married to former Playboy Playmate Kayla Rae Reid, with whom he shares three children, for seven years until she filed for divorce in March 2025.
The swimmer has since moved on with new girlfriend Molly Gillihan, who Reid recently accused Lochte of cheating on her with before their separation.
The two women broke out into a public feud this week after Reid exposed a brutal email from the six-time Olympic gold medalist online.
In the missive, Lochte allegedly told Reid that his new partner Gillihan is a ‘ten times better mother,’ before urging her to ‘look at the offer I just sent to your lawyer and move on with your gold digging life.’
Reid branded the email the ‘tip of the iceberg’ as she posted the harsh message on her Instagram story.

‘This is what I deal with every. single. day,’ Reid wrote above the email on her Instagram story, via the New York Post.
‘This is after I checked in on our 2 year old with strep throat. This is the tip of the iceberg and I am exhausted. My heart goes out to anyone navigating a similar situation. Tired of being continuously disrespected behind closed doors. Literally 2/1000 messages.’
The post sparked a retort from Gillihan who alleged that Reid recently dropped off her two-year-old daughter with Lochte ‘covered in throw up’ before allegedly racing off to a ‘girls weekend in Miami.’
‘My response? Every text and every DM… Every magazine. I’m sorry, I don’t follow Ryan’s ex on insta. I really try and just stay focused on our kids when we have them. But you (Kayla Rae Reid Lochte) or whatever name you chose…. dropped your two year old off with us covered in throw up, no pants, and rushed off as fast as you could to your girls weekend in Miami,’ Gillihan wrote on a story post.
‘You’re a CHILD And I’m exhausted of YOUR false narrative. Your followers love it and crave it. Your lies are for them. Keep it up girl. They’re putty in your hands! Meanwhile, I’ll love on your kids and mine until my last breath.’
Reid filed for divorce from the 12-time Olympic medalist over a year ago. However, proceedings have since descended into a series of sour legal and public jabs.
Reid and Lochte share three children: Caiden, eight, Liv, six, and Georgia, two. The couple’s split was officially announced in June 2025, three months after the initial filing.
At the time, Reid wrote in a lengthy Instagram post that she made the ‘hard decision to end my marriage after deep prayer and reflection’ following a season she described as ‘painful’ and ‘challenging.’

While she hinted at ‘betrayal’ in that initial announcement, Lochte was spotted cozying up to Gillihan shortly after, though he has adamantly denied any overlap between the two relationships.
Earlier this year, the swimmer confirmed he had moved into a new home with Gillihan, a 37-year-old kindergarten teacher, and her three children.
‘I fell in love with someone who shares those same values and who has three children of her own,’ Lochte told People in January, describing their new life as a ‘family of six kids.’
‘She’s my best friend, our kids have formed an incredible bond, and it became clear that being together under one roof was the right next step for all of us,’ he added.
