Caicedo agrees new Chelsea contract
Chelsea midfielder Moises Caicedo has reportedly reached an agreement to sign a new contract at the club in what is a major boost for the Blues’ under-fire ownership group.
The Ecuador international moved to Stamford Bridge from Brighton & Hove Albion for a fee of €116.6 million in 2023 and he has been one of Chelsea’s top performers since his arrival at the club.
Caicedo still has five years remaining on his current contract with Liam Rosenior’s side, but he recently switched agents and it has been widely reported that he has been keen to be rewarded for his recent form with improved contract terms.
The Telegraph’s Matt Law has now confirmed that an agreement has been reached between Caicedo and the Chelsea hierarchy. It’s claimed that an official announcement is currently being prepared and it’s reported that his new deal, which will come with a pay rise, will run until June 2033.
Rosenior requests Inacio signing
Chelsea boss Liam Rosenior has reportedly requested the signing of Sporting CP central defender Goncalo Inacio during the upcoming summer transfer window.
The 24-year-old has been linked with a Premier League switch for several seasons and he could be set to finally secure an English top flight move this summer amid rumoured interest from Chelsea.
Inacio signed a new five-year contract at Sporting in December, but Rosenior is eager for the Chelsea hierarchy to tempt him away from Lisbon with the offer of joining the Blues this summer.
That is according to a report from Spanish publication Fichajes, who claim that Rosenior wants to bring Inacio to Stamford Bridge ahead of the 2026-27 season as he looks to bolster the centre-back options at his disposal.
Chelsea step up chase for England midfielder
Chelsea have accelerated interest in Alex Scott in the hopes of beating their rivals to sign the Bournemouth midfielder.
The Blues are keen to sign Scott knowing that they may face a bidding war in the England international, particularly if he is included in Thomas Tuchel’s squad for the 2026 World Cup.
Accoridng to The Independent, Chelsea have the firmest interest in Scott, who is likely to cost in excess of £50m (€57.4m.)
Chelsea will pursue Scott regardless of the situation surrounding Enzo Fernandez but much will depend on the other teams that make an approach for the 22-year-old.
Colwill set to sign new contract
Levi Colwill is expected to follow Caicedo into signing a new contract at Chelsea that will keep him at the club until the 2030s, according to The Times.
Chelsea are keen to allay fears of their project destabilising and are looking to tie a number of key players down to new deals even though their current contracts still have significant time on them.
With captain Reece James also having penned a new deal in recent weeks, Chelsea will offer a number of stars improved terms in the hopes of keeping them content to stay at the club.
Blues willing to sell midfield duo
Chelsea will reportedly listen to offers for Romeo Lavia and Andrey Santos this summer after underwhelming seasons for the midfield duo.
Lavia has continued to endure huge injury problems since his move to Stamford Bridge and the 22-year-old has made just two Premier League starts all season.
Santos, meanwhile, is highly-rated at the club but has failed to consistently impress in his 24 league appearances.
According to journalist Simon Phillips, while Chelsea will not push either player out, both players are attracting ‘significant’ Premier League interest and offers will be considered for the pair.
