Donald Trump says that the US relationship with the UK has “been better but it’s sad”.
Asked about the special relationship, the US president first asked: “With who?”
And speaking to Sky News he continued: “The relationship is where when I asked them for help they were no there, when we needed them they were not there, when we didn’t need them they were not there and they still are not there.
“It has been better but it’s sad and we gave them a good trade deal. Better than I had to. Which can always be changed.”
