Akanji Jibola Hat-Trick Inspires Femmco FC to Winning Start at Championship Opener

The 2026 edition of the Femmco Football Championship began on an exciting note in Ifo, Ogun State, with Matchday 1 delivering competitive action across the U10, U13, and U15 categories.

One of the standout moments of the opening day came in the U13 division, where Femmco FC recorded an impressive 3-1 victory over Solace FA. The match was defined by a sensational individual display from Akanji Jibola, who netted all three goals for his side to secure a commanding win.

Jibola’s clinical finishing and attacking awareness proved too much for Solace FA to handle, as he completed a well-taken hat-trick. Victor Olaleye managed to pull one back for Solace FA, but it was not enough to alter the outcome.

Speaking after the match, Jibola expressed his delight with his performance and credited his teammates and coaching staff for the victory.

“I am so excited with my performance today, scoring three goals to help my team,” he said.

“I appreciate my teammates and my coach for the focus and determination as we look forward to doing better in our upcoming matches.”

The young forward also spoke about his inspiration, revealing a personal motivation behind his growing ambition. Jibola is the younger brother of Akanji Seun, who plays for Sporting Lagos and secured a move to a Norwegian side last year.

“Yes, my brother’s success motivates me, but I want to set my own targets and achieve more for the future ahead,” he added.

Jibola’s performance not only secured three points for Femmco FC but also marked him out as one of the early players to watch in this year’s competition. As the tournament progresses, expectations will be high for the young striker to maintain his impressive form.
