FootballTransfers runs through the biggest rumours from 14 April, including the latest updates on Lewis Miley, Kobbie Mainoo and Morgan Rogers.
Man Utd interested in Miley
Man Utd, PSG and more clubs are showing an interest in homegrown Newcastle midfielder Lewis Miley, TEAMtalk claims.
After struggling for minutes last season, the 19-year-old has impressed when he has been on the pitch this term, resulting in him becoming the latest Newcastle star to attract high-profile attention.
Man Utd have been scouting him for years and are convinced that he could become a starting-level midfielder for them. Newcastle view Miley as a central figure in their long-term planning, but selling him would generate some handsome pure profit.
Man Utd close to Mainoo agreement
Man Utd are “getting closer” to reaching a contract agreement with Kobbie Mainoo, interim boss Michael Carrick has confirmed.
The 20-year-old was previously keen to leave the club, but Carrick’s arrival has given the youngster a renewed sense of importance, and he is now ready to commit his long-term future to Man Utd.
Mainoo is expected to put pen to paper on a contract until 2031 shortly, with this deal set to include a significant pay rise. Man Utd are “positive” that the matter will be settled imminently, Carrick states.
Chelsea in Rogers talks
Chelsea have made contact with the representatives of Aston Villa attacker Morgan Rogers, as per Sacha Tavolieri.
The 24-year-old is a priority target for the Blues heading into the summer transfer window, and talks have been held to gauge his interest in a move and to explore the conditions of a potential deal.
Man Utd are also in discussions with Rogers’ camp, which could be bad news for Chelsea, who are at risk of missing out on Champions League football.
Dembele on the market?
Ousmane Dembele could become available this summer if his contract talks with PSG break down, L’Equipe reports.
Discussions are currently on hold as the 2025 Ballon d’Or winner wants to wait until after the World Cup before sorting out his future. His current deal expires in 2028.
Should no agreement be reached, Dembele could be made available for transfer, in which case the Premier League or the Saudi Pro League would be his most realistic destinations.
With the Dembele talks currently on ice, PSG are instead trying to agree extensions with Bradley Barcola and Senny Mayulu, two negotiations that have also proved difficult in recent months.
Arsenal favourites for Kofane
Arsenal are the favourites to sign Bayer Leverkusen striker Christian Kofane this summer, Christian Falk states.
Bayern Munich hold an interest in the 19-year-old, but signing a striker is not the club’s most pressing priority, and Arsenal’s interest is believed to be more concrete. If the Gunners were to get serious about Kofane, Bayern would struggle to sign him.
Leverkusen are holding out for a fee in the region of €60 million. Kofane’s agent recently claimed that he is in discussions with Arsenal, who he expects to make a formal bid for the Cameroon international.
