Scarlett Faulkner has tragically died in hospital after life-support machines were withdrawn, her heartbroken family have said.
The 29-year-old mum-of-one, from Limerick, Ireland, had been on life support at Cork University Hospital for the past three weeks after suffering catastrophic injuries in a roadside attack on the R494 near Birdhill on March 21.
A woman and a 16-year-old girl have been charged in connection with the assault. Neither can be identified.
The woman faces four charges, including violent disorder, reckless endangerment, and two counts of burglary. The teenager is meanwhile charged with assault causing serious harm to Scarlett.
Scarlett’s devastated sister-in-law Josephine Duffy revealed on Friday that the decision to turn off her life support machine had been delayed as the family anxiously awaited the outcome of the final assessment.
