The New York Knicks had several players step up in their 103-90 victory over the Brooklyn Nets, but Landry Shamet was arguably the biggest surprise of the night.
Shamet produced an excellent shooting performance, scoring 22 points on six-of-eight shooting from the field. He also knocked down four three-pointers, giving the Knicks an important scoring contribution as they secured the home victory.
Jalen Brunson finished with 19 points, six assists and four three-pointers, while OG Anunoby added 18 points, four rebounds and two steals.
It was a frustrating night for Brooklyn, which struggled to keep up with New York’s scoring and eventually finished with just 90 points.
The Knicks were able to maintain their advantage and close out the game without allowing the Nets to mount a serious comeback.
Although Brunson remains central to what New York wants to achieve this season, performances like Shamet’s are valuable. The Knicks need players beyond their leading stars to make meaningful contributions, and Monday night offered an encouraging example.
New York moves to 3-4 following the victory, while Brooklyn falls to 1-6.
