Cameron Boozer enjoyed a night to remember after recording a career-high 27 points to help the Memphis Grizzlies demolish the Sacramento Kings 136-105.
Boozer was the leading scorer for Memphis, adding nine rebounds and three assists while knocking down three shots from beyond the arc. It was an impressive individual performance in a game where the Grizzlies were dominant from start to finish.
Memphis showed its offensive strength throughout the contest, putting up 136 points and leaving Sacramento with little chance of mounting a comeback. The 31-point victory was another statement of intent from a team that has made an excellent start to the new campaign.
The result also keeps the Grizzlies unbeaten at 6-0, giving them one of the strongest records in the league at this early stage of the season.
For Boozer, reaching a new career high will be particularly satisfying. His 27-point contribution underlined his importance to Memphis and gave the team another reason to be pleased with its start.
Sacramento, however, is experiencing a very different beginning to the campaign. The Kings have now lost all six of their opening games, dropping to 0-6 after another heavy defeat.
They will need to find answers quickly, especially after allowing 136 points against Memphis. The Grizzlies, meanwhile, will be eager to protect their unbeaten record and keep their impressive run going.
