Bayern Munich Fight Back to Hold Real Madrid in Champions League Thriller

Bayern Munich came from two goals down to earn a 2–2 draw against Real Madrid in the UEFA Women’s Champions League, recovering from a difficult start to rescue a point on home soil.

Real Madrid looked in control early on after Athenea del Castillo opened the scoring in the seventh minute. Lineth Beerensteyn then made it 2–0 in the 22nd minute, putting Bayern under serious pressure.

However, Bayern refused to let the game slip away. Edna Imade pulled one back in the 30th minute, giving the German side a much-needed boost before the break.

The comeback was completed shortly after half-time when Momoko Tanikawa scored in the 52nd minute to bring Bayern level. Despite the efforts of both sides to find a winner, neither team could add to the scoreline.

For Bayern, the result will feel like a valuable recovery after falling two goals behind so early. Real Madrid, meanwhile, will be disappointed not to have turned their strong start into a victory.
