2026 U-17 WWC: Flamingos Must Be Clinical Against Mexico – Busari

Flamingos head coach Akeem Busari has stressed the need for his players to convert their chances when Nigeria face Mexico in the Round of 16 at the ongoing 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Rabat on Thursday, Completesports.com reports.

Nigeria scored six goals in the group stage but also conceded three, with Busari urging his side to improve their finishing as the tournament enters its knockout phase.

Busari Wants Clinical Flamingos

Busari acknowledged Mexico’s quality and emphasised the importance of maintaining the right mentality and approach ahead of the crucial encounter.

“We know there is no second chance, and we let the players know why it is important to take their opportunities once and for all,” Busari told the team’s media.

“Mexico are a very good side. I believe they respect us, and we equally have respect for them because every team at this particular stage is a contender for the trophy.

“We have just talked to the players about high mentality, a sense of readiness and a good approach to the game.”

With a place in the quarter-finals at stake, Nigeria will be looking to deliver a clinical performance against their Mexican opponents and keep their title ambitions alive.
