NBA star Tyler Herro hits back after ex claims he is sending 'aggressive' messages amid bitter court battle

The bitter legal battle between Tyler Herro and his ex-girlfriend has taken a fresh twist after the NBA star hit back at claims he was sending her ‘aggressive’ texts.

It was revealed back in September that the Milwaukee Bucks star had split from Katya Henry, with whom he shares two children, after nearly seven years together.

Reports at the time revealed that Herro and Henry were in a custody battle over their children – daughter, Zya, who was born in 2021, and son, Harlem, born in 2023 – with  Henry demanding primary custody of their children.

It was reported that the NBA star, who claims to have been paying child support since Henry gave birth, asked the court to devise a parenting schedule and decide how much child support he should pay, only for Herro to dismiss his case days later.

However, according to TMZ, court documents now show Herro is alleging that Henry is manufacturing ‘artificial drama’ in an attempt to leverage more financial support.

Herro, who joined the Bucks during the offseason after seven years in Miami, reportedly claimed that Henry made ‘unnecessary and irrelevant allegations,’ such as that he was sending her ‘aggressive’ texts amid their ongoing legal battle.

In his own filing, according to TMZ, Herro insists he communicates with Henry in the same manner in which any former couple would speak to one another.

The NBA star admitted that neither party has used ‘perfect’ language, but remained adamant that his messages were ‘reasonable.’

The outlet previously reported that in her court filing, Henry said, due to his ‘historical conduct’ that ‘safeguards and parameters should be implemented on a temporary and permanent basis in order to ensure the safety and well-being’ of their children.

The 32-year-old said she ‘intentionally’ left out details related to the alleged conduct. But back in 2022, in a now-deleted social media post, Henry appeared to accuse Herro of ‘cheating.’

Last month, TMZ also reported that Herro and Henry stopped living under the same roof more than a year before they ended up in a legal dispute.

It is thought Henry and the kids moved out of his eight-bedroom Miami mansion back in February 2025.

Herro spent the first seven seasons of his NBA career with the Miami Heat before being traded to the Milwaukee Bucks earlier this year. He is expected to earn a base salary of $33 million in 2026-27.
