Iheanacho Makes History With 10 Consecutive League Matches

Super Eagles forward Kelechi Iheanacho has made history in Turkish football after scoring in 10 consecutive professional league matches.

The Nigerian striker broke the previous record of nine consecutive matches held by Turkish football legends Metin Oktay and Saffet Sancaklı, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Iheanacho achieved the feat in an away match against Muğla, where he scored twice to increase his goal tally to 14.

The forward also provided an assist for the final goal, taking his total assists to three.

Before Iheanacho’s achievement, Oktay scored in nine consecutive matches for Galatasaray during the 1962/63 Süper Lig season.

Sancaklı also matched the record while playing for Kocaelispor in the 1995/96 season.

However, Iheanacho has now moved ahead of both players to become the first footballer in Turkish football to score in 10 consecutive professional league matches.

His impressive run highlights his fine form and growing influence at club level.
