Yep, we have to continue talking about this.
I’ve actually just had a good debate with my colleague, who may have changed my mind slightly.
He said it’s the authenticity that footballers need to show but don’t usually, and that it ‘encapsulates the mood around the club’. Now, I must say, I do understand that.
But do I still think Lisandro Martinez went a bit far? Yep. He clearly pre-planned those comments, or has at least wanted to say something for a while and felt now was his best chance.
You don’t just go at a director like that if you haven’t been planning on doing so for a while.
