Two players ejected as massive fight breaks out after very first play of Eagles-Jaguars in London

The Philadelphia Eagles-Jacksonville Jaguars game in London got off to a strange start when a fight broke out on the opening kickoff between two players who were later ejected.

A bizarre circumstance at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium saw two opening kickoffs after a stunning first return resulted in multiple offsetting penalties.

The opening kick of the game was fielded by Jacksonville’s Josh Cameron, who ran the kick back 90 yards for a stunning game-opening touchdown.

But moments after that return happened, multiple flags were thrown by officials as a fight broke out yards behind the play.

Philadelphia’s Jeremiah Trotter and Jacksonville’s Bryan Thomas Jr (not to be confused with the Jaguars wideout Brian Thomas Jr) blocked each other on the return and continued to stay engaged with each other as they ran multiple yards up the field.

Trotter then threw Thomas to the ground as the two continued fighting while teammates tried to break them up.

Trotter was eventually dragged off of Thomas by his fellow Eagles as they separated the pair.

Enough penalties were called by officials that they ran out of penalty flags, with protocol then leading to referees throwing their hats off to indicate infractions.

After a period of time to sort out the confusion, the officials announced offsetting penalties by both teams – an illegal formation call on the Eagles and a holding call on the Jaguars.

Then, they announced that both Thomas and Trotter were hit with penalties and were subsequently ejected from the game.

Due to the offsetting penalties, the touchdown was nullified and the teams needed to kick off once again.

Jacksonville’s Ameer Abdullah returned the kick 15 yards to the Jacksonville 26 yard line to officially start off the game.
