Police incident report sheds more light on mysterious death of wrestling icon PAC, 41, and phone call he received after his body was found

A police report has shed more light on the mysterious death of wrestler Benjamin Satterley, known as PAC as a performer in AEW, after he was found dead in a rental car outside a restaurant in Illinois.

Satterley had performed at the AEW All Out pay-per-view the night before he was found slumped over in his car outside a CAVA restaurant in Des Plaines near Chicago O’Hare International Airport at around 4pm on September 27.

He allegedly had saliva on the front of his shirt and medication in the car when he was found by authorities responding to a call of a man slumped over in his vehicle.

An incident report written by a member of the Des Plaines Police Department and obtained by the California Post said no notable findings were made in a search of Satterley’s pockets and backpack.

The documents redacted the type of medication found in the car, but the report stated there were not ‘any obviously suspicious marks upon Satterley nor circumstances within the vehicle.’

Police also shared insight into his plans in his final hours, with Satterley seemingly on his way to the nearby airport to travel back home to the UK after his final show.

‘I noticed that Google Maps was still open on his cellphone and it was routing him to O’Hare Airport,’ an officer stated in the police report.

When officers arrived at the scene, Satterley’s phone was buzzing and was answered by officials, who spoke to a woman on the other line who said she knew the victim.

Per the report, the woman said: ‘she last spoke to Benjamin on the phone around 1320 hours and he related he was going to CAVA for lunch,.

‘He had been traveling for his occupation as a professional wrestler for the past three weeks around the United States and had been in the Chicago-area since Thursday (09/24/2026) or Friday (09/25/2026). She related his flight had been delayed and Benjamin was scheduled on his flight back to the UK at approximately 1530 hours.’

Satterley’s cause of death is not yet known and is pending ‘additional testing’ after an initial autopsy, per the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.

A Des Plaines Police statement provided to the Daily Mail last week said:  ‘The individual was found deceased. The cause and manner of death remain pending further examination by the medical examiner.

At this time, there are no indications of foul play, and the circumstances surrounding the death are not considered suspicious. The decedent’s identification is consistent with that of the professional wrestler in question.’
