Brenda Shima has been appointed as the new Media Manager of the Super Falcons, bringing a wealth of experience in sports broadcasting and journalism to the Nigeria women’s national team.
Sports247 reports that Shima, an experienced sports broadcaster with Television Continental (TVC), has previously worked with Ray Power FM and African Independent Television (AIT), where she was part of the team behind the popular Kakaki programme.
Her career in sports journalism has been marked by a strong focus on women’s football, giving her valuable insight into the coverage, promotion and communication of the women’s game.
The new appointment comes at an important period for the Super Falcons, with the team preparing for their 2028 Olympic qualifying campaign.
Shima is expected to play a key role in managing the team’s media operations, facilitating communication between the squad, coaching staff and the media, while also helping to enhance the visibility of the Super Falcons and women’s football in Nigeria.
Her experience across television and radio broadcasting is expected to provide a strong foundation for the role as she begins work with the nine-time African champions.
She assumes her new responsibilities ahead of Nigeria’s Olympic qualifying fixtures against Comoros, giving her an immediate opportunity to settle into the position during a significant phase of the Super Falcons’ international calendar.
With her background in sports journalism and particular interest in women’s football, Shima will now be tasked with helping tell the Super Falcons’ story as the team begins its journey towards the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.
