Nigeria’s Super Eagles will face Guinea-Bissau on Tuesday in their second Group L match of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
Eric Chelle’s side go into the game with three points after coming from behind to defeat Madagascar 2-1 in Uyo on Friday. Guinea-Bissau also have three points after beating Tanzania 2-0 away from home.
The match presents another test for the Super Eagles, especially with Victor Osimhen already ruled out through injury. The Nigeria Football Federation confirmed that the Galatasaray striker would miss both September qualifiers because of a right-thigh muscle strain.
Chelle could also be without Akor Adams and George Ilenikhena. Both forwards trained separately from the main group after starting against Madagascar. Adams played for just over an hour, while Ilenikhena lasted 69 minutes.
Taiwo Awoniyi and Tolu Arokodare are therefore among the main options to lead the attack. Moses Usor has also entered the conversation after scoring the winning goal on his Super Eagles debut against Madagascar.
Stanley Nwabali is expected to continue in goal, while Chelle could make some changes to the defence after a short turnaround between the two matches.
Bright Osayi-Samuel could come into the starting XI, with Ola Aina potentially rested after playing 87 minutes in Uyo.

The midfield could again be built around Wilfred Ndidi and Alex Iwobi, while Samuel Chukwueze and Ademola Lookman provide width and attacking threat.
Nigeria will be looking to secure another three points in Bissau and strengthen their position in Group L. With Tanzania already qualified automatically as a co-host, only one remaining qualification place is available to Nigeria, Guinea-Bissau and Madagascar.
The match will take place at the Estádio Nacional 24 de Setembro in Bissau, with kick-off scheduled for 5pm Nigerian time on Tuesday, September 29.
