US soccer legend Carli Lloyd and her husband, Brian Hollins, have welcomed a new member to their family with the birth of their second child.
The former USWNT star, 44, announced on Monday that she gave birth to the couple’s new son, named Hunter Jax, on September 24.
Lloyd, who has previously opened up on her fertility struggles, and the professional golfer, 42, also share daughter, Harper Anne, who was born in October 2024 after the couple underwent In Vitro Fertilization.
‘Our hearts have never been fuller. Welcome to the world, our sweet baby boy,’ Lloyd wrote on Instagram with adorable photos of her newborn.
‘It wasn’t the easiest delivery, which makes us even more grateful for the best team of Doctors, nurses and everyone else who took such amazing care of us throughout this pregnancy. @mcobgyns @virtuahealth, Dr. McCrosson, Dr. McCullen, Erica O’Learly, Dr. Zender, Jordan. Thank you for the best care!!’
Lloyd shared that both she and their new bundle of joy are now home and ‘adjusting to life as a family of four – especially with our 2-year-old learning her new role as big sister.’

She added: ‘These days are a little crazy, a little sleepless, but incredibly special. We’re feeling beyond grateful to have our baby boy here, safe and loved, and to watch our family grow. Welcome to the family, little man. We love you more than words can say.’
Lloyd and Hollins, who are high school sweethearts, tied the knot in November 2016 after nearly two decades together.
Prior to welcoming Harper to the world in October 2024, Lloyd opened up on the couple’s ‘rollercoaster’ journey to get pregnant.
‘We are so grateful for all the love and support we had from our family and friends,’ she said.
‘My story is currently a happy one, but I know there are other women who are facing challenges in their pregnancy journey. I see you and I understand your pain.
‘My hope is that more and more women will speak up about this topic, because their stories helped me. I also wish for more resources, funding, and education around fertility treatments. There is much to be done, and I hope I can play a role in helping!’
The former USA captain also previously detailed her ‘secret journey involving unexplained infertility and multiple rounds of IVF treatments’ in a Women’s Health article.
She revealed that she had always wanted to be a mother but admitted that it hadn’t always been a priority with her focus fixated on soccer.

‘When I retired in 2021 at age 39, I’d spent 34 years of my life playing soccer, 17 of them professionally,’ she wrote in the emotional article.
‘Having a baby was on our mind, and I thought putting it off for a little bit longer to enjoy life wouldn’t pose an issue. For the first time, soccer wasn’t my priority.
‘I could actually choose what I wanted to do and spend time with Brian, my family, and my friends without soccer consuming my mind and body.’
‘In retrospect, I wish I had been more educated about pregnancy and how to prepare for it, and that I looked years ago into the options I had for freezing my eggs,’ she added.
The two-time World Cup winner chronicled her attempts to get pregnant – a journey which she said ‘began to eat me alive’ and involved three rounds of IVF.
Lloyd, who had a loan stint at Manchester City in 2017, won two Women’s World Cups and two Olympic medals during her international career (2005-2021).
She also ranks third on the USA’s most goals scored list (134) behind Abby Wambach (184) and Mia Hamm (158).
Since hanging up her boots, Lloyd has transitioned into becoming an analyst, most recently working for Fox during its coverage of the 2026 World Cup, which was co-hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico this summer.

During the tournament, Lloyd was on the receiving end of disgusting comments from body-shaming trolls on social media.
The Fox Sports analyst was strong in her criticism of the US men’s national team after they were dumped out of the tournament by Belgium, and it led to abuse from some on social media.
Rather than ignore the trolls, Lloyd took one on, quickly firing back at the anonymous X user.
The exchange began after Lloyd had slammed US star man Christian Pulisic, and some comments he made in the wake of his team’s exit about now getting a ‘rest’.
In response, Lloyd had written on X: ‘ You rest when your playing career is over. Period.’
A social media troll – known only as ‘Moonshot Magician’ – then hit back at Lloyd with a photo of her on air with Fox, alongside a message that read: ‘Looks like youve [sic] been resting really good lately big mama’, followed by a series of laughing emojis.
Lloyd then clapped back and quote-tweeted the troll, writing: ‘I can tell you are a gentleman. Do you always disrespect women? Does it make you feel good hiding behind your keyboard?’
