New York Giants star Malik Nabers has revealed that he popped his shoulder back in on the sideline of SoFi Stadium before returning to Monday night’s game against the Rams.
The Giants endured a punishing 28-6 loss in Los Angeles, with both wide receiver Nabers and quarterback Jaxson Dart suffering injuries.
On the second-to-last play of the first quarter at SoFi Stadium, Nabers dislocated his right shoulder while jockeying with Rams cornerback Trent McDuffie.
The 23-year-old immediately grabbed his shoulder and ran to the sideline, where he was in visible agony as he was examined by multiple trainers.
When ESPN returned from a commercial break, Nabers was sitting on the bench massaging his shoulder. He was able to return on the next series, finishing with one reception for 1 yard on four targets.
After the game, Nabers revealed his shoulder ‘popped out and I just popped it back in.’

The Giants also lost quarterback Jaxson Dart during their 28-6 loss to the Los Angeles Rams
He explained, per SNY: ‘My shoulder is OK. I’m going to get an X-ray on it, to see what’s going on. But I was out there, I tried to just come back out. We had lost Jax so I didn’t want to give the team another loss. So I went back in, just tried to see what I could do.’
The wide receiver refused to use the issue to make ‘excuses for anything that happened in the game,’ adding: ‘Yeah, I’m battling through injuries, but it doesn’t make a difference on how the performance was.’
Dart, meanwhile, is believed to have suffered a sprained MCL after his knee bent awkwardly in Monday’s loss to the Los Angeles Rams.
According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, Dart’s X-rays were negative and he’ll have an MRI on Tuesday. But while Dart is expected to miss some time, he has seemingly avoided a season-ending injury.
Dart immediately grabbed at his knee after Rams defenders Byron Young and Josaiah Stewart smashed into him while he attempted a pass to tight end Theo Johnson on the opening drive.
Young hit Dart from the quarterback’s right side, sending him into fellow linebacker Stewart, who undercut Dart’s legs, resulting in a hard fall onto the turf.
The 23-year-old was able to walk off the field but was moving gingerly and looked frustrated. Dart then went back to the locker room and Jameis Winston replaced him as the quarterback before he was carted off for more tests.
Dart, who managed to stand on the sideline for the second half, was ruled out of the game at halftime and Giants general manager Joe Schoen told ESPN: ‘He’s going to be okay.’
