Super Eagles stars Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey both featured as Fulham held Manchester United to a 1-1 draw at Craven Cottage.
Iwobi started the match for Fulham and was involved as the hosts put United under pressure in an entertaining Premier League contest.
Bassey also played an important role in Fulham’s performance, especially in the second half.
The Nigerian defender won the ball from Matheus Cunha before driving forward and taking a shot at goal. Although United goalkeeper Senne Lammens saved his effort, the ball came back off Lisandro Martinez and went into his own net to give Fulham the lead.
Bassey’s strong run had therefore helped create the opening goal, even though the final touch came from the United defender.
Iwobi and Bassey helped Fulham maintain their pressure before United eventually found an equaliser late in the game.
Cunha scored in the 89th minute after his long-range effort took a deflection and beat Fulham goalkeeper Bernd Leno.
The result means Fulham are still waiting for their first Premier League win of the season, while Iwobi and Bassey will take positives from their performances against United.
