Fresh off bringing a sold-out Madison Square Garden to its feet during a Harry Styles concert, Jalen Brunson continued his A-list weekend by attending the US Open final.
The Knicks star was seen in the stands for the men’s final on Sunday, taking in the action alongside wife Ali Marks and teammates Karl-Anthony Towns and Josh Hart.
The reigning NBA champions turned out in full force to rally behind American star Ben Shelton, with Hart setting the tone earlier by posting: ‘We all Ben Shelton fans today’.
However, despite their strong support, it wasn’t enough to spur Shelton on to victory. Instead, he fell to a 6-3, 7-6, 5-7, 6-2 defeat to Alexander Zverev in the final.
Meanwhile, the trip to Flushing Meadows capped a blistering 24 hours for Brunson, who became the star of the show at a Harry Styles gig at MSG one day prior.
Attending Styles’ sold-out MSG residency as a fan in the crowd, Brunson was unexpectedly singled out mid-concert by the pop icon.

Brunson was there to cheer on Shelton, however the American fell to defeat to Zverev

It came just one day after Harry Styles stopped his show to give Brunson a shoutout
After pausing the show, Styles pointed directly towards Brunson and declared: ‘We have the King of New York in the house tonight… Mr Jalen Brunson’.
The crowd erupted into a chorus of cheers for the Knicks star, who smiled and saluted the crowd in response to Styles’ shoutout.
Brunson and Co. weren’t the only sports stars in the crowd on Sunday afternoon, with Trinity Rodman making a late dash to be in New York for the end of Shelton’s US Open final – only to be left in tears after her boyfriend’s loss to Zverev.
Shelton was chasing a first Grand Slam title but his hopes of ending America’s 23-year wait for a man to win the US Open were dashed by the No 1 seed.
Rodman has been a regular in her boyfriend’s box during this year’s US Open but the soccer star had a match of her own on Sunday afternoon.
She missed most of the action as Zverev beat Shelton 6-3 7-6 5-7 6-2. But cameras caught Rodman crying inside Arthur Ashe Stadium in the wake of her boyfriend’s loss.
She was wearing a Ben Shelton t-shirt and she caught the attention of Zverev following the match. ‘Trinity, I thought you had a game today?’ Zverev said in his on-court interview.
Rodman, who this year became the highest-paid player in women’s soccer, plays for the NWSL’s Washington Spirit and they lost to Boston Legacy on Sunday afternoon.
