Haaland wants Barcelona
Man City striker Erling Haaland is keen on a move to Barcelona, El Nacional claims.
The Norwegian superstar’s long-term ambition is to play in Spain, a country he grew fond of during his childhood, and he is a dream target for both Barcelona and Real Madrid. It is asserted that he is unhappy with Man City’s post-Pep Guardiola transition and could look to leave next summer.
A €175 million release clause could allow him to do just that. With Atletico Madrid insisting that they will never sell Julian Alvarez to Barcelona, the Catalans could pivot to Haaland and use the funds they had originally allocated for the €150m-rated Argentine.
Mitoma to leave Brighton?
Kaoru Mitoma is “unlikely” to sign a contract extension at Brighton, leaving his future in the balance, TEAMtalk writes.
The Japan international is a fan favourite, but a “painful exit beckons,” with a move potentially on the cards as early as January. His contract expires next summer, meaning that the winter window will be Brighton’s final chance to secure a fee.
Mitoma is unwilling to extend his contract due to the level of interest in his services, but no suitors are mentioned. The winger has been repeatedly linked with Premier League giants in recent years, though it remains to be seen if he is still an attractive option at 29.
Mac Allister exit possible
Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister could leave Liverpool next year if no new contract materialises, Fabrizio Romano reports.
The Argentine admitted earlier this week to being “sad” about not having been offered fresh terms yet and confirmed that he could have departed the club this summer. If the situation does not change anytime soon, an exit in 2027 can’t be ruled out.
Liverpool seem to be well prepared for this possibility, however. According to David Ornstein, AS Monaco’s Lamine Camara and AS Roma’s Manu Kone are two names on their shortlist of potential Mac Allister replacements.
Balogun to stay at Monaco
Folarin Balogun will stay at AS Monaco at least until January after his collapsed transfer to Everton, L’Equipe understands.
The American made a last-minute U-turn on joining Everton last week and subsequently also failed to secure a move to a league where the transfer window remained open. With only a couple of unattractive options now remaining, Balogun will stay put and be available for selection.
In the meantime, Monaco could look to fix their financial issues by selling Aleksandr Golovin, their longest-serving player, back to his native Russia, where the window closes today. Spartak Moscow and Zenit St. Petersburg are in talks to sign him.
Chelsea to sign Kvaratskhelia?
Chelsea and Tottenham are the frontrunners to sign Dinamo Tbilisi winger Tornike Kvaratskhelia, as per TEAMtalk.
The 16-year-old is the younger brother of PSG superstar Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and has attracted the attention of numerous European giants, who believe that he could reach the same level as his sibling.
Khvicha only ended up on the radar of elite clubs after a detour to Russia, whereas Tornike’s suitors believe that his development could be fast-tracked by making the right move to a top European league sooner. However, he can’t move to the UK until he turns 18.
