NFL star and six-time Pro Bowler arrested on drink-driving charges to throw his career into jeopardy just days before the start of the season

NFL wide receiver Keenan Allen has thrown his Indianapolis Colts career into jeopardy after being arrested on drink-driving charges just 11 days on from signing with the team.

Allen, 34, is a six-time Pro Bowler and former Comeback Player of the Year, who is preparing for his 14th season in the NFL – and first in Indianapolis after leaving the Los Angeles Chargers.

But on Sunday morning the NFL star – who has earned just under $140million in his career to date – was behind bars and facing two DUI charges after being arrested by police in the early hours of the morning.

According to an IMPD police report and jail booking, as first reported by Fox59, Allen was arrested at around 1am on preliminary charges of DWI and DWI endangering a person.

He was picked up by cops on the 100 block of S. Meridian Street, just hours after he had played for the Colts in the preseason game against the Detroit Lions at the Lucas Oil Stadium.

No further details have yet been made available about the circumstances surrounding the arrest, and the Daily Mail has reached out to the Colts for comment.

Allen’s arrest comes just two weeks ahead of the start of the 2026 season, with Indianapolis preparing to host the Baltimore Ravens in Week 1.
