Less than one month after being axed by ESPN in a series of budget saving measures, one of the top NFL insiders has landed a new job.
In an announcement on Monday, Netflix revealed that Tom Pelissero had joined the company to work as an NFL insider and sideline reporter.
Pelissero had worked for NFL Network for nearly a decade before ESPN acquired the company this year.
Now, Pelissero joins the on-air talent for the streaming service’s five NFL broadcasts in the 2026 season.
This includes the first game of the season between the Los Angeles Rams and the San Francisco 49ers from Melbourne, Australia.
Netflix also broadcasts a game the day before Thanksgiving, two games on Christmas Day and one during Week 18.

Pelissero confirmed the news himself on social media, simply tweeting ‘Let’s go.’
Pelissero will work as an insider, sideline reporter and podcast host with the streaming giant
Pelissero will also be making appearances on podcasts operated by The Ringer, the sports and pop culture website founded and run by sportswriter Bill Simmons.
In addition to a weekly appearance on ‘The Bill Simmons Podcast’ – which is livestreamed on Netflix – Pelissero will be co-hosting ‘The Ringer NFL Show’ on the same platform.
Pelissero confirmed the news on social media, posting, ‘Let’s go.’
According to The Athletic, Amazon Prime Video was also interested in bringing Pelissero aboard for the streamer’s ‘Thursday Night Football’ broadcasts.
Previously, the company featured Pelissero’s former NFL Network colleague Ian Rapoport. After the ESPN acquisition, Rapoport signed a new deal preventing him from working with TNF.
Another NFL Network alumnus, James Palmer, will be moving to Amazon instead, according to the outlet.
Pelissero joined NFL Network in 2017 after four years of covering the league with USA Today. On the network, Pelissero appeared on shows like ‘Good Morning Football,’ ‘GameDay Morning’ and ‘The Insiders.’
