Akor Adams will come up against international teammate Maduka Okoye in the Coppa Italia round of 16, after helping new club Venezia beat Modena 3-2 by scoring two goals and providing an assist on Saturday night.
Making his first appearance since his move from Spanish La Liga club Sevilla, Adams netted the late winner to send his side into the next round.
Modena, who feature in Serie B, took the lead in the 17th minute through Giuseppe Ambrosino but nine minutes late Adams made it 1-1.
In the 39th minute Ambrosino got his second of the match to put his side 2-1 ahead before Adams set up John Yeboah for the equaliser on 83 minutes.
Then in the 85th minute Adams got on the score sheet again, bagging the winning goal for Venezia.
