Network Times, Dinice Royal Investment Set Up Island All Stars Over-45 Final

The Island All Stars Sports Club Above-45 Football Tournament at Lagos Business School has reached its decisive stage, with Network Times and Dinice Royal Investment securing their places in the final after two entertaining semi-final encounters.

Sports247 reports that Network Times booked their place in the championship match with a narrow 1-0 victory over Sure B Homes, in a tightly contested encounter that produced plenty of opportunities at both ends.

Both goalkeepers were called into action several times during a goalless first half, producing important saves to keep their respective teams in contention.

However, Network Times eventually found the breakthrough early in the second half when a close-range tap-in settled the contest.

Sure B Homes pushed for an equaliser but Network Times held firm to secure their place in the final.

The second semi-final between Cartel Beach House and Dinice Royal Investment provided even more drama, with Dinice Royal eventually progressing 3-1 on penalties after the match ended 1-1 in regulation time.

Cartel Beach House took the lead when Alaigbo delivered a dangerous cross from the byline, which Jokesman emphatically smashed into the bottom-right corner to put his side ahead.

Dinice Royal’s task became more difficult after Dik Xon was sent off following a retaliation incident involving Oscar.

Despite playing with 10 men, Dinice Royal continued to threaten, while goalkeeper Derik produced a series of important saves, including a crucial one-on-one stop against Patrick Lugo.

The drama intensified late in the match when Derik made an adventurous run from his own goal line and was fouled inside the opposition penalty area.

The goalkeeper dusted himself off and confidently converted the resulting penalty to level the contest at 1-1.

With neither side able to find a winner before the final whistle, the tie was decided through a penalty shootout.

Derik once again proved decisive, saving two penalties as Dinice Royal Investment won the shootout 3-1 to complete a remarkable comeback.

The result sets up an exciting final between Network Times and Dinice Royal Investment, while Sure B Homes and Cartel Beach House will meet in the third-place/tossers final.
