Nigeria’s Super Falcons have received a massive $60,000 goal bonus following their emphatic 6-2 victory over Egypt’s Cleopatras in their final Group C fixture of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, Completesports.com reports.
Ahead of the tournament, the National Sports Commission, NSC, introduced a special performance-based incentive, promising the reigning African champions $5,000 for every goal scored during the competition, beginning with their opening fixture against Malawi.
Following the Super Falcons’ stunning six-goal display against Egypt on Wednesday, Nigeria Football Federation ,NFF, President Ibrahim Gusau announced that the NSC had doubled the reward to $10,000 per goal in recognition of the team’s outstanding performances and to further motivate the players for the knockout stages.
The revised incentive means the Super Falcons have now earned $60,000 from their six goals against Egypt alone, highlighting the government’s renewed commitment to rewarding excellence in Nigerian sports.

The nine-time African champions will now shift their attention to a highly anticipated quarter-final clash against the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon on Sunday in Casablanca.
The encounter promises to be another fierce chapter in one of African women’s football’s biggest rivalries.
Beyond a place in the semi-finals, the stakes are even higher, as victory would also secure Nigeria’s qualification for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil.
With increased financial incentives, growing confidence, and a World Cup ticket within reach, the Super Falcons will be determined to maintain their momentum, and continue their quest for a record-extending 11th WAFCON title.
