US has used 'virtually all' long-range precision missiles during Iran war, say sources

The US army has used up much of its stockpile of highly accurate long-range missiles during its five-month war on Iran, three sources familiar with the matter told Reuters.

The US has used “virtually all” munitions for surface-to-surface weapons (ATACMS), and around half of its global Tomahawk supply, the sources said. ATACMS are crucial to allow accurate strikes from a safe distance, and have been widely used by Ukraine against Russia.

A person with knowledge of the data said the US Central Command, which oversees operations in the Middle East, had burned through nearly all the land-based missiles it had before the war began, and had to resupply from other areas of the world.
