Liverpool are set to miss out on Maghnes Akliouche as the Monaco winger nears a move to Paris Saint-Germain, according to reports in France.
RMC Sport’s Fabrice Hawkins understands Akliouche is set to join PSG on a five-year deal after they agreed a €50million (£42.7m) fee with Monaco.
Liverpool were also interested in signing the 24-year-old, with The Athletic claiming Andoni Iraola’s side had made an enquiry over his availability.
French publication L’Equipe reported in May that Liverpool had earmarked Akliouche as a possible replacement for Mohamed Salah.
Akliouche’s imminent move to PSG coincides with Liverpool’s interest in Bradley Barcola, who currently plays for the Ligue 1 giants.
BBC Sport reported on Wednesday that the Reds were preparing an opening offer for Barcola, who PSG value at around €170m (£145.5m).
However, the same publication understands Liverpool will attempt to strike a deal with PSG that is nearer the €117m (£100m) mark.
Various sources in France claim Barcola has told PSG he is unwilling to extend his contract, which has just two years left to run.
Barcola is believed to favour a move to Liverpool this summer, provided they can agree a deal with Luis Enrique’s European champions.
The Athletic claims Arsenal also admire the 23-year-old, though they are currently prioritising an ambitious move for Real Madrid star Vinicius Jr.
Barcola has struggled to nail down starting berth at PSG
After emerging through Lyon’s famed youth system, Barcola went on to make 47 appearances for Les Gones, scoring seven goals.
He then joined PSG for €45m (£38.4m) in August 2023 and has since scored 39 goals in 152 appearances for Luis Enrique’s men.
Known for his rapid pace, Barcola has won 12 honours with PSG including back-to-back Champions League titles in 2025 and 2026.

However, he has struggled to dislodge either Desire Doue or Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in PSG’s electric front three, which also features Ballon d’Or holder Ousmane Dembele.
Barcola also found it difficult to usurp Doue in France’s starting eleven at this summer’s World Cup, starting just four of Les Bleus’ eight fixtures.
He still managed to record three goals and one assist in North America, however, as France were beaten by eventual champions Spain in the semi-finals.
Barcola has received 28 caps for France, scoring six goals.
