Rangers have announced Finland international Oliver Antman has joined Belgian giants Anderlecht on a four-year deal.

While the Scottish Premiership side say the fee is undisclosed, Rangers Review understands the figure is above €4.6million (£4m).

Antman had been expected to leave Govan this summer, having also drawn interest from Championship side Derby County and Dutch outfit Twente.

The funds generated from Antman’s sale will significantly boost Rangers boss Derek McInnes’ transfer plans.

In an interview with Sky Sports earlier this week, McInnes called on the Rangers board to strengthen his options out wide.

“I do think in those creative moments, we need the ability to penetrate more, create a wee bit more and more people who can isolate one-v-one,” he said.

“We’ve got good players here, but it’s an area we can improve on and hopefully we can get that done.”

Rangers linked with two wingers following Antman exit

Rangers Review understands the club hold an interest in both Coventry City winger Jahnoah Markelo and Amario Cozier-Duberry of Brighton and Hove Albion.

Cozier-Duberry, 21, caught the eye during a loan spell with Bolton Wanderers last season, scoring 10 goals in 41 games to help the Trotters win promotion to the Championship.

Markelo meanwhile joined Premier League new boys Coventry from Swiss side Zurich in January. The 23-year-old made just five appearances for Frank Lampard’s side, however, and is believed to be available on loan.

And the Herald understands Rangers are edging closer to agreeing a deal to sign defender Olwethu Makhanya from Major League Soccer (MLS) side Philadelphia Union.

The same publication claims a fee in the region of €3.5m (£3m) is being discussed for the 22-year-old, who was included in South Africa’s World Cup squad.

Antman endured difficult season with Rangers

Antman, on the other hand, joined Rangers last August after they agreed a €4m (£3.5m) fee with Dutch side Go Ahead Eagles.

However, he scored just one goal last season – in the 5-1 Scottish Premiership win over Kilmarnock in February – while registering four assists.

Rangers have been busy in the summer transfer window, making seven additions to McInnes’ squad ahead of the 2026-27 season.

Goalkeeper Ivor Pandur, defender Ross McCrorie, midfielders Vanja Dragojevic, Dan Neil and Cammy Devlin and striker Lawrence Shankland have all arrived on permanent deals. Defender Ben Godfrey has also joined on a season-long loan from Serie A outfit Atalanta.

Rangers open up their Scottish Premiership campaign with a trip to Dundee United on Friday.
