Nigerian professional wrestler, Isaac Torioluwa Oshiumi Odugbesan (Oba Femi) is at the centre of what analysts and critics have referred to as a ‘trial of integrity’ for World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), as the organisation is facing questions over their decision to arrange a third fight for him against Brock Lesnar.
Sports247 reports that Oba Femi took Lesnar to the cleaners when they first met at WrestleMania 42, with the American grappler apparently opting to retire right after, only for WWE moguls to bring him back, in an effort to extend his legacy.

Lesnar ended up beating ‘The Ruler’ in Italy, during their second fight, which left WWE in need of a decisive third bout between both fighters, and they have opted to make it happen at SummerSlam 2026, with ‘Hell In A Cell’ as a pivotal platform for the trilogy’s climax.
However, critical comments are heralding the fight fixed for this weekend in Minnesota, USA, as some wrestling experts believe ‘Hell In A Cell,’ which did not hold last year, should have been rested forever, while a number of others think Lesnar is not fit enough to take on the younger Oba Femi in such a brutal challenge.
As the much-awaited night now approaches rapidly, WWE is literally on trial heading into this weekend’s bout, with questions ranging from credibility of the organisation, safety of the wrestlers and future projections from the likely outcome, with many questions keeping observers in suspense.
These salient points were raised by Yahoo Sports’ contributing writer, Robert Jackman, who noted that marketing and commercial factors mostly accounted for WWE fixing a third bout between both fighters in the first place, and they felt that the most vibrant terrain to settle it is with ‘Hell In The Cell.’
Jackman noted, “The 20-foot structure is coming back out of storage, chosen by Triple H as the perfect way to settle the score between Oba Femi and Brock Lesnar at WWE SummerSlam. So, why did we get a rematch?
“As is usually the case with WWE, commercial factors triumphed over creative ones. When you have 50,000 overpriced seats to shift for SummerSlam, there’s no way you can risk leaving your most successful feud off the card.
“WWE knows it needs to up the stakes for the final part of this trilogy. After all, it was the company’s decision to keep this feud running beyond WrestleMania. What happens inside that chain-link structure on Saturday will decide whether that was a foolish call or not.”
However, Sports247 gathered further that Oba Femi is favoured to win this upcoming bout, considering that he is younger than Lesnar and a new story line can be built round him, while capturing the large African audience for many years to come.
