The Open runner-up Cameron Young is Sky Bet's favourite to win the PGA Tour's Rocket Classic

Cameron Young has opened as Sky Bet’s favourite to win the PGA Tour’s Rocket Classic, which gets underway on Thursday.

The world No 5 came agonisingly close to claiming his maiden major title at The Open earlier this month. Young finished on nine under par after four rounds and looked set to force a play-off for the Claret Jug.

However, New Zealand’s Ryan Fox had other ideas. Fox produced a brilliant birdie at the 18th, holing a 12-foot putt to finish at 10 under par and claim the prestigious title by a single shot.

While the near miss will have been a bitter disappointment for Young, he heads to Detroit as the 9/1 market leader with Sky Bet.

Meanwhile, those looking beyond Young for an upset can find Chris Gotterup and Xander Schauffele at 16/1, with Jackson Koivun and Si Woo Kim at 18/1.

Koivun arrives in Detroit in excellent form after claiming the 3M Open last time out, beating world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler by three shots.

Gotterup and Schauffele also head into the Rocket Classic with confidence after both secured top-20 finishes at The Open.

Sky Bet is also offering two Price Boost, enhancing the odds from 7/2 to 4/1 on Young, Gotterup, Wyndham Clark or Russell Henley winning the Rocket Classic.

Young to make birdie or better on three consecutive holes has been boosted from 7/2 to 4/1.
