American actor Mark Ruffalo has strongly criticised Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu after the latter welcomed the dismissal of International Criminal Court (ICC) Prosecutor Karim Khan.
Ruffalo said: “Just because you lobbied to have the man who issued the war crimes taken down doesn’t mean the war crimes disappear or your guilt is assuaged. You will not outrun justice. You will not lobby history. You are a murderous maniac, Benjamin Netanyahu. You will always be remembered as such.”
Earlier, Netanyahu welcomed the decision to remove Khan from his post.
On Friday, member states of the ICC voted to dismiss Khan following allegations of sexual misconduct.

A total of 82 of the court’s 125 member states voted in favour of removing the prosecutor.
Khan, 56, has denied any wrongdoing. His lawyers said the process that led to the vote was unlawful, procedurally unfair and unsupported by evidence.
Khan’s dismissal came after the United States announced a new diplomatic campaign aimed at dismantling the ICC, saying the court poses a threat to US sovereignty.
Last month, diplomats overseeing the ICC’s independent oversight body concluded that the British lawyer had engaged in an inappropriate sexual relationship with a junior lawyer at the court and recommended that he be dismissed.
