A right-wing Israeli journalist and a settler activist have openly described provoking confrontations with Palestinians as a tactic to expand Jewish settlement in the occupied West Bank.
Speaking on a podcast hosted by settler activist Elisha Yered, journalist Tamir Dorstel said settlers deliberately “initiate friction” with Palestinians as part of a strategy to increase the Jewish presence in the occupied territory, according to Settlers From Within, whichΒ “tracks settlers’ content and atrocities against Palestinians”.Β
Yered endorsed the remarks during the discussion, replying: “We are proud of it.”
The comments come amid mounting international concern over escalating settler violence and the expansion of Israeli settlements across the occupied West Bank.
