Former Governor David Umahi has spoken about the death of Miss Mary Habila, the nurse who died at a guest house within his residence in Uburu, Ebonyi State.
According to a report by Vanguard on Thursday, July 16, 2026, Umahi said Habila’s colleagues became worried after they repeatedly knocked on her door without getting any response. He stated that they eventually forced the door open and found her lying dead inside the room.ѕєє тнє ν!∂єσ нєяє
Umahi added that he believes Habila was about to take her bath before she died because the water tap was still running when he body was discovered. He said he had directed his lawyers to request an autopsy to determine the exact cause of her death and asked that her body should not be released for burial until it was carried out.
In Umahi’s words: “When they broke the door, they found her dead. The tap was still running. I think she wanted to have her bath”.
