Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike on Tuesday offered a rare glimpse into his personal life, revealing that while he does not consider himself someone who prays extensively, he relies on a simple daily prayer for God’s protection as he carries out his official duties.
Wike made the remark during the commissioning of the Bwari Satellite Town Water Supply project in the Federal Capital Territory as reported by TVC News on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, an event held as part of activities marking the third anniversary of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.ѕєє тнє ν!∂єσ нєяє
Speaking before government officials, traditional rulers, and residents, the FCT minister credited President Tinubu’s support for the progress recorded in the territory, saying the backing from the Presidency had enabled his administration to deliver key infrastructure projects.
In the course of his address, Wike turned to a more personal note, speaking about his family’s prayer life and the role his wife plays in it.
According to him, his wife is deeply committed to praying, while his own daily prayer is brief and centred on returning home safely after each day’s work.
“I don’t know how to pray very well. The best prayer I can offer is, ‘God, let me come back safely today’ but she prays very well,” Wike said.
He added that he often encourages his wife to continue praying that President Bola Tinubu would sustain his support for the FCT administration, stressing that such backing has been instrumental in implementing projects across the nation’s capital.
Wike maintained that with the President’s continued support, his administration remains committed to improving infrastructure and enhancing the quality of life for residents of the Federal Capital Territory.
