Woman kidnapped by rickshaw driver in horror gang-rape ordeal

A woman was allegedly kidnapped and gang-raped by a group of four men in a rickshaw. The victim, a 43-year-old widow, was reportedly returning home after carrying out some admin tasks.

She had made the journey to Tauru, near the city of Nuh in northern India, before boarding a rickshaw. As reported by the Tribune in India, instead of being taken back to Satlaka, where she lived, three passengers in the rickshaw stepped outside to keep guard while the driver pulled down the curtains and attacked her.

She was told she would be killed if she screamed but she managed to break free and escape when the suspects were distracted by the sound of a motorbike.

The gang then taunted the victim, allegedly trying to intimidate her into silence.

Four men have now been arrested and charged with rape following the incident, which happened on June 26, 2026.

Inspector Chanderbhan of Tauru police said an investigation into the attack is ongoing.

The news comes after a 12-year-old girl was found dead in a pond after being gang-raped while on her way to a shop.

She did not return home and was reported missing before her body was found in a pond wrapped in a sack.

Two men have been arrested following the horrific incident that happened in the city of Baruipur in West Bengal, India.

The incident, which happened on July 5, triggered protests and angry demonstrations.

As reported by the Express Kankar Prasad Barui, Inspector General of Police, said: “The situation is under control. A large police picket has been deployed and no one involved in this heinous crime will be spared.
