The French Football Federation (FFF)plans to finalise all official documents with legend Zinedine Zidane after the conclusion of the 2026 World Cup.
This is according to transfer expert and Italian journalist, Fabrizio Romano (via YS Scores).
Romano reported that Zidane has not studied any other offers over the past eight months, as his focus has been entirely on taking over as head coach of the France national team, awaiting the completion of official procedures.
These developments come just hours after the French national team exited the World Cup semi-finals following a 2-0 defeat to Spain, a match that concluded the ‘Les Bleus’ campaign in the tournament.
Reports indicated that the FFF is preparing to finalise an agreement with Zidane for a contract that will extend until the 2030 World Cup.

If the contracts are signed officially, this will be the first time Zidane takes charge of the French national team, after achieving exceptional success as the coach of Real Madrid.
Didier Deschamps is expected to step down as France head coach after the conclusion of the FIFA World Cup 2026.
The former France captain guided his team to the semi-finals where they lost 2-0 to European champions Spain.
During his time as head coach Deschamps led Les Blues to second place finish at the 2016 European Championship where they lost 1-0 to Portugal in the final.
But he led them to become World Cup champions in 2018, their second title after captaining them to glory on home soil in 1998.
He was close to helping them defend their World Cup title but lost to a Lionel Messi-led Argentina side on penalties after 90 minutes and extra-time ended 3-3.
