Barcelona are prepared to sell Ferran Torres this summer to avoid paying an add-on fee to Manchester City.
Torres joined Barcelona from Man City back in January 2022 for an initial €55million, signing a contract until the summer of 2027.

The cost of keeping Torres
Barcelona have already paid Man City €10m in add-ons, but they’ll have to pay around a further €8m if the Spain international extends his contract at the Camp Nou, The Athletic report.
As such, LaLiga champions Barca are said to be erring against offering Torres a new contract.
And with the 26-year-old not becoming a free agent until next summer, he would command a fee in the current transfer window.
Torres, who has helped Spain to the semi-finals of the World Cup – where they face France on Tuesday for a place in the final, live on eSPORTY – has recently been linked with a move to European champions Paris Saint-Germain.
The former Valencia man made 49 appearances for Barcelona in all competitions last season, scoring a career-best 21 goals.
That being said, he endured a 14-game goal drought between January and April and lost the starting place he’d gained from Robert Lewandowski.
With that in mind, Barcelona may not be overly concerned about parting ways with him this summer.
Torres has found the net 65 times in his four and a half years at Barcelona, winning three LaLiga titles and a Copa del Rey.
He previously won the Premier League title and EFL Cup in his only full campaign at Man City, as well as reaching the Champions League final.

Spain’s super-sub
As far as goalscoring goes, he’s fared better in international football, striking 24 times in 63 caps since making his senior Spain debut six years ago.
Part of the squad that went all the way at Euro 2024, Torres has mostly featured as a substitute at the 2026 World Cup.
He has played a key part in Spain’s push to be crowned world champions for the second time, though, coming off the bench to set up Mikel Merino’s stoppage time winner against Portugal in the round of 16.
A changing of the guard
Barcelona have already offloaded two players for fees this off-season, with goalkeeper Inaki Pena and attacking midfielder Ansu Fati joining Panathinaikos and Monaco respectively.
Meanwhile, veteran striker Lewandowski has left following the expiry of his contract, joining MLS side Chicago Fire.
In terms of inbound business, Anthony Gordon has been the sole signing so far, joining for £70m.
Arriving from Newcastle, the England star became only the third English player to sign for Barcelona since the Second World War.
Gordon’s international teammate Marcus Rashford spent last season on loan at the Camp Nou, but his move has not been made permanent, with eSPORTY understanding Barcelona have agreed a deal for Borussia Dortmund and Germany winger Karim Adeyemi.
