Adelaide star Josh Worrell will face court after allegedly hitting a pedestrian when he ran a red light on July 10.
The 25-year-old has been reported to South Australian police for aggravated driving without due care and failing to present to police within 90 minutes of a collision which resulted in injury.
Worrell was reportedly left shaken up by the alleged collision as he made his way to training with the Crows at about 8.30am.
The pedestrian, a 29-year-old man, was not seriously hurt and Worrell took him to hospital, where he had a head wound treated with five stitches.
Worrell and the man reportedly attended police in the afternoon on July 10.
The 25-year-old was given permission to skip the training session held that morning, but still lined up against the Gold Coast Suns at Adelaide Oval the following day.

The 25-year-old defender has also been accused of failing to report to police within the proper time frame after the alleged incident, which left a 29-year-old man needing hospital treatment for a head wound
‘A driver has been reported following a collision at Woodville last week,’ South Australian Police said in a statement on Wednesday morning.
‘Following investigations, the 25-year-old driver was reported for aggravated driving without due care and failing to present to police within 90 minutes after a collision which resulted in injury.
‘He will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.’
The Crows released a statement of their own on the day of the incident.
‘The Adelaide Football Club can confirm one of its players was in a vehicle accident involving a pedestrian this morning,’ the Crows said in a statement on Friday evening.
‘The matter has been reported to South Australia Police and at this stage, the club is not in a position to provide any further comment.’
Worrell has played 70 games since making his debut in 2021, averaging a career-high 23.3 possessions per game this season.
On Tuesday, Crows coach Matthew Nicks praised the star’s leadership and said he was ‘still working through’ the accident.

‘It’s been a pretty challenging few days for Josh, he’s working through after his accident,’ Nicks said.
‘But we’re just doing whatever we can to support him through that.’
Two weeks ago, Nicks referred to Worrell as his ‘wild child’ before winding that back.
‘I might have gone a bit far with it,’ Nicks said.
‘It was just a bit of a tongue-in-cheek with Josh; Josh and I have a running joke about him being my wild child.
‘He’s actually the opposite to that now but go back four or five years I had a close eye on Joshy, where he was at.’
Worrell was selected by Adelaide with pick 28 at the 2019 national draft.
But the Victorian left-footer has admitted struggling with the professionalism of the AFL, playing just five games in his initial two years.
Worrell added another 25 across the following two seasons before a breakout when considered unlucky to miss last year’s All Australian team.
