Iranian parliament speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said in a post on X that the “era of one-sided deals is over”.
“We told you: keep your word or pay the price. Reality is knocking,” he added.
Ghalibaf’s post was accompanied by an image of Article 5 of the memorandum of understanding (MoU), which concerns the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.
The image highlights in blue the words: “The Islamic Republic of Iran will make arrangements.”
Disagreements between the US and Iran over the control and management of shipping in the Strait of Hormuz have led to renewed fighting between the two countries.
