Ryanair passenger pictured who was 'sucked through' broken window as wife clung on

Ljubiša Karović, 61, from Serbia, was on a Ryanair flight from Thessaloniki to Memmingen, when an engine piece smashed a window and he had to be held back as he was sucked out

A Ryanair passenger who was sucked through a broken plane window and pulled back by his wife has been pictured.

The flight from Thessaloniki to Memmingen, in Germany, returned to Greece on Friday morning following a mid-air engine emergency. Debris from the engine is understood to have hit the window.

After taking off at 5.55am local time in Greece, the pilot noticed a problem with the engine over North Macedonia and decided to return to Thessaloniki.

It was during the descent that part of the damaged engine detached and struck a cabin window, causing 61-year-old Ljubiša Karović, from Serbia, to be partially sucked out due to the pressure.

His wife Svetlana Grković held onto his legs while fortunately he also had his seatbelt buckled.
