The UK Maritime Trade Operations said on Friday that the security threat on the Strait of Hormuz remains at its highest level following a renewed exchange of attacks between the US and Iran.
Shipping data showed that traffic through the waterway has dropped sharply during the latest military operation due to increased risk for ships crossing the strait, which supplies a fifth of the world’s oil and gas supplies.
