Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qassem reportedly survived an Israeli attack that occurred on Thursday west of Gaza City, according to Al Arabiya television.
Based on a security source in the territory, one of the Israeli air strikes targeted the Hamas official’s car.
However, Qassem was not in the car at the time of the attack. His body guard was killed instead.
On Thursday, at least six people were killed by Israeli shelling across the blockaded enclave.
Since October 2023, Israel’s genocide in the Gaza Strip has killed over 73,118 Palestinians, and injured 173,615. Several high-profile officials and notable figures have been targeted during this period.
