The Turkish president told reporters at the ongoing Nato summit in Ankara that a two-state solution to the conflict is key to a lasting peace in the Middle East.
“It is incumbent upon all of us to ensure calm, particularly in Gaza and Lebanon,” he said, according to Al Jazeera
He said Turkey is ready to provide necessary contributions to clear the Strait of Hormuz of mines.
The Turkish leader announced his country has taken the necessary measures to reach NATO’s defence spending target of 5 percent of its gross domestic product by 2035.
Turkey, he said, has allocated an additional $24 billion to the budget for its Steel Dome air defence project to boost NATO’s air and missile defences.
