Simone Biles has hit back at fans who questioned why she was invited to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding over the weekend.
Biles, joined by husband Jonathan Owens, stepped out into the hot New York night last Friday to be a part of one of the biggest pop culture weddings in US history.
The gymnast shared photos from the night on her Instagram story, where she wore the burgundy colored gown with metallic accents that was designed by DO LONG.
However, while some fans praised the gymnast’s look on the night, others questioned why she was there – having rarely seen Biles and Swift cross paths.
In the comment section of her post, one fan asked: ‘When has Simone Biles and Taylor Swift even spoken to each other?’
Many supporters rushed to Biles’ defense, before the Olympic icon responded herself, writing: ‘remember this, I only show y’all what I want y’all to know’.

Biles hit back at fans who questioned whether Biles and Swift had ‘even spoken to each other’
Kelce and Swift tied the knot at a lavish ceremony in New York on Friday evening
Those who defended Biles made sure to note the times that Biles and Swift have publicly supported each other throughout the years.
Biles previously used Swift’s hit song ‘Ready for It’ during the first part of her floor routine in the 2024 US Olympic Gymnastic Trials.
The routine even prompted a response from Swift on X, who wrote: ‘Watched this so many times and still unready. She’s ready for it tho’.
The 14-time Grammy winner also voiced support for Biles back in 2021, following the gymnast’s triumphant return to Olympic competition.
Swift had narrated a video about Biles for NBC’s coverage of the Games five years ago, labelling the gymnast as an American ‘hero’.
In the promo, Swift said: ‘What do we want from our heroes? What do we expect from them? What do we need from them? What happens when they surprise us?
‘When you have the attention of the world, everything you do takes on a bigger meaning. It can be a heavy burden. It can be a chance to change everything.’
‘Throughout the last week, her voice has been as significant as her talents. Her honesty as beautiful as the perfection that had long been her signature.

Fans jumped to Biles’ defense, noting that, at the very lest, the two have interacted online

The gymnast shared photos from the night on her Instagram story, where she wore the burgundy colored gown with metallic accents that was designed by DO LONG.
‘But don’t you see? It still is. She is perfectly human. And that’s what makes it so easy to call her a hero,’ Swift added.
The pair then shared a wholesome interaction online, after Biles responded to the video, writing: ‘I’m crying. how special. I love you @taylorswift13’.
Swift then replied: ‘I cried watching YOU. I feel so lucky to have gotten to watch you all these years, but this week was a lesson in emotional intelligence and resilience.
‘We all learned from you. Thank you.’
