A5, Pangos Announce First-Ever A5 Pangos All-African Elite Invitational in Lagos, Nigeria

A5 and Pangos Camps is proud to officially announce the inaugural A5 Pangos All-African Elite Invitational, an unprecedented international basketball showcase that will take place December 2–6, 2026, in Lagos, Nigeria.

The event represents a transformational milestone for African basketball and will unite the continent’s most talented young athletes with many of the world’s most influential basketball decision-makers on one stage.

The A5 Pangos All-African Elite Invitational is one of the premier international sporting events that A5 committed to bringing to Nigeria under the historic Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed earlier this year between A5 and the Office of the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the President on Grassroots Sports Development.

The agreement reflects a shared commitment to establishing Nigeria as Africa’s premier destination for elite youth sports development, international competition, investment, and athletic opportunity.

For the first time in history, over 125 of Africa’s most talented basketball players including the continent’s highest-ranked prospects and undiscovered elite talent from every corner of Africa and throughout the African Diaspora will gather in Lagos to compete before an extraordinary audience of collegiate coaches, professional scouts, NBA evaluators, general managers, athletic directors, and international basketball executives.

The Invitational represents far more than a basketball event. It is designed to become Africa’s premier basketball exposure platform, connecting elite talent with educational opportunities, professional careers, NIL opportunities, and life-changing global exposure.

“This event is about creating opportunity at the highest level,” said Dr. Francis Titus, Co-Founder and Chief Development Officer of A5. “For generations, many of Africa’s greatest athletes have waited for an opportunity to be evaluated without having to leave the continent. We are bringing the world to Africa. Lagos will become the meeting place where dreams become careers.”

A Historic Partnership
The Invitational represents the coming together of two internationally respected basketball organizations.

A5 has rapidly become one of Africa’s leading youth sports development organizations through strategic government partnerships across multiple African nations, athlete development initiatives, scholarship pathways, NIL opportunities, and comprehensive athlete support.

Pangos has spent more than two decades establishing itself as one of the most respected basketball evaluation platforms in North America. Its alumni include NBA superstars such as James Harden, Anthony Davis, Russell Westbrook, John Wall, and DeMar DeRozan, while its flagship events have become a destination for hundreds of scouts and basketball executives every year.

Together, A5 and Pangos are creating what many believe will become the most important basketball exposure event ever held on the African continent.
More Than 125 Elite Athletes. More Than 200 Decision-Makers.

The Invitational will feature:
• More than 125 elite basketball players from across Africa and the African Diaspora.
• The continent’s Top 100 ranked prospects.
• 25 elite “Sleeper” prospects identified through A5’s extensive scouting network.
• More than 200 basketball decision-makers, including:
o NCAA coaches and athletic directors
o NBA scouts
o Basketball Africa League executives
o Euro League coaches and general managers
o Professional scouts from Europe, Asia, and the Middle East
o International player agents and basketball executives
Never before has African basketball talent been assembled alongside this level of global
basketball leadership under one roof.

Developing Players—and Coaches
The event begins on December 2 with the inaugural A5 Pangos All-African Coaches Symposium, a first-of-its-kind educational conference dedicated to advancing coaching excellence throughout Africa.

The symposium will bring together elite coaches from across the continent for professional development, mentorship, classroom instruction, and collaborative learning with internationally respected basketball leaders. Following the symposium, participating coaches will immediately transition to working directly with athletes throughout the Invitational, creating an integrated development experience for both players and coaches.

Four Days That Could Change Lives
Beginning December 3, invited athletes will participate in an elite, professionally organized experience featuring:
• Official player registration
• Comprehensive combine testing
• Athletic measurements
• Speed and agility testing
• Vertical leap evaluations
• Live five-on-five competition
• Position-specific skill evaluations
• Three-point competition
• Slam Dunk Championship
• Team competition before international scouts and executives

Every drill, every measurement, and every game will be evaluated by basketball leaders representing nearly every pathway available to elite athletes worldwide. A Major Economic Opportunity for Nigeria

Beyond athletics, the A5 Pangos All-African Elite Invitational is expected to generate millions of dollars in projected economic activity for Nigeria through international travel, hospitality, transportation, media production, tourism, venue operations, local vendors, event staffing, security, and business partnerships.

The event will create numerous opportunities for Nigerian businesses while further establishing Lagos as one of Africa’s premier destinations for international sporting events. With athletes, coaches, executives, media professionals, families, sponsors, and basketball organizations traveling from across the globe, the Invitational represents an important investment in Nigeria’s sports economy and international visibility.

Broadcasting Africa to the World
The Invitational will be professionally managed and broadcast by the African Sports & Entertainment Network (ASEN), with every major event streamed worldwide, allowing millions of basketball fans, recruiters, and industry professionals to experience African basketball on an international stage.

Access to the Invitational will remain invitation-only, preserving the elite nature of the event while providing athletes with a world-class evaluation environment.

A New Era Begins
The A5 Pangos All-African Elite Invitational is more than an event—it is the beginning of a new chapter in African basketball.

For decades, the continent has produced extraordinary talent. Now, through strategic partnerships, visionary leadership, and global collaboration, Africa will host one of the world’s premier basketball showcases on its own soil.

History will tip off in Lagos this December.
