Arsenal make big Bradley Barcola transfer decision after Morgan Rogers message sent

Arsenal are looking to add to their attacking options in the summer transfer window.

Arsenal will reportedly step up their interest in Paris Saint-Germain forward Bradley Barcola this week, with the club receiving encouragement over a potential move. The 23-year-old is one of the Gunners’ targets in the current transfer window.

BBC Sport reports that the club have been tracking the France international for a while, and will be able to keep a close eye on him when France take on Sweden in the World Cup on Tuesday night (10pm kick-off). Barcola has been named in Didier Deschamps’ starting line-up for the game.

Another key target for Arsenal is England international Morgan Rogers, however, it’s reported that Aston Villa value him at £130 million. A move for Barcola, who has two years remaining on his contract with PSG, would prove to be significantly cheaper for Arsenal.

The forward played a total of 49 times for PSG last season in all competitions, scoring 13 times and providing a further seven assists. In his three appearances for France in the World Cup so far, he has scored once and provided one assist.

Mikel Arteta is looking to add more attacking power to his squad ahead of the new season as Arsenal aim to defend their Premier League title. The club will also look to go one better in the Champions League after falling to defeat against PSG in the final last season.

They could be given a boost in their hopes of signing Barcola with RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande looking set to complete a move to the French capital. His expected arrival will provide move competition and possibly allow Barcola to make a move this summer.

Arsenal are not alone in their interest, with Liverpool also said to be keeping an eye on the forward. The Reds were themselves showing an interest in Diomande before he made the decision to move to PSG.

It was reported earlier this month that Barcola has told PSG of his desire to leave the club this summer. It was added that he was valued at around £60 million.

Speaking last year, PSG boss Luis Enrique made his stance on the player clear.

“Bradley Barcola’s future? I have no doubt he’ll remain our player,” he said.

“We like the fact that our players are interesting to other clubs. But he’s one of those young players we’ve been banking on.

“I expect him to play here for many more years.”
